Joint and several liability

Joint and several liability is characterised by the liability of several persons to jointly comply with the demands of a creditor. In doing so, the creditor has the choice to demand the entire compliance of all, several, or one individual joint debtor without having to consider the internal participating interests of the joint debtors.
